"We continued reviewing her writing. She had to write an introduction, three body paragraphs, and one conclusion."
"Today the student and I worked on preparing for the SAT writing format. We analyzed and discussed two sample writing questions in the following way: writing a thesis, and what evidence to use to answer the thesis. We carefully read the documents and I made sure the student understood the new format."
"The client is preparing for the writing test for SAT's. We have worked together for several weeks and developed a system. There are very good quality writing tests, and as he completes them we will evaluate his answers and the correct answers together. Our intent is to always identify any mistakes, but also to look for patterns and to discuss his thought process behind the mistakes. Every session we chronicle our observations and reinforce previous successful strategies and/or develop new ones, as needed. Since the test is mostly multiple choice, we've discovered that a process of eliminating obvious wrong choices while specifically looking for evidence to support the remaining possible good choices."
"The student is an enthusiastic student who is motivated to improve her writing skills. Tonight, we reviewed an essay prompt for her community health course and edited her first draft. We focused on paragraph and sentence structure while aiming for clarity and conciseness. We also discussed tips for integrating and paraphrasing information from sources. At the end of our session, I connected her to a resource for APA formatting. The student demonstrated a clear understanding of the material presented to her in class and in her readings. While she expressed strong and unique ideas for her assignment. I am confident that she is on the right track. She will apply these newly learned strategies and continue to practice her skills for future writing assignments."
