Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"AP Chemistry- We did some more review for Easton's upcoming AP exam. We went through several practice questions covering chemical equilibria."
"Topics covered included acid-base equilibrium and solubility. Problems relating to these topics were worked through. The student seems to grasp concepts well."
"Today we continued with the review of chemistry including more work with solubility and solutions. We also started with geometry, which was mostly finding the area of irregular figures."
"The student and I continued working on practice problems and reviewing concepts for his upcoming AP Physics 1 exam. We specifically worked on multiple-choice questions dealing with conservation of linear momentum, standing waves, harmonic oscillations (and harmonic frequencies), and orbital motion (including a lengthy discussion of how to derive and think about "escape velocities" for objects that otherwise would enter and stay in gravitational orbits). We also worked through free-response questions."
"The student reports that he felt confident on his last geometry test. Today, we worked through his chapter on the digestive system and excretory system. I started making an outline of the work which we will finish together next week. I had the student explain in his own words the process of digestive tract. I tried to create a bigger picture model and reviewed the basic types on molecules- Protein, Fats/Lipids, Carbohydrates, and Nucleic Acids. We also watched a short video on the Kidney function."
"In our final session, we reviewed the practice problems I assigned for the student yesterday. Then, we did a rapid fire of true/false and multiple choice questions spanning the entire textbook. Finally, we reviewed the student's final study guide and looked over key concepts that would most likely be tested. The student has shown great progress in her understanding of Astronomy and problem solving ability!"
