Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I prepared for his AP Physics 1 test. To do so, we worked through practice multiple-choice and free-response problems from an AP review packet. It was a pleasure working with him. Best of luck."
"The student and I covered some redox questions that he had. We reviewed the meaning of oxidation states and how to effectively use them as a tool. After this, I explained how a reduction and oxidation manifest themselves in half reaction and overall reaction format, how to balance them in acid and how to analyze the meaning of spontaneity for the forward reaction, and how it impacts the spontaneity of the reverse."
"The student and I had a good session. He has his calculus final tomorrow morning first thing. We worked through several specific questions that he had lined up for review. In specific we talked about the fundamental theorem of calculus, anti-derivatives, and parametric equations. Good luck on the final! Our next appointment is set for Saturday."
"Today, we spent most of the session going through the first section of the next chapter he is covering in class about the moon, earth, and sun. If we continue to cover the material in small chunks, hopefully it will be easier to study for tests later on."
"The student and I worked on several different concepts in preparation for his upcoming final exam. We primarily focused on complex metal ions, acid/base chemistry, and solutions. The student still remembered all of the qualitative facts relevant to these areas. We worked through several problems suggested by the professor throughout the semester. For extra practice, I recommended doing five problems for every sub-concept."
"The student and I reviewed the basic concepts that were to be covered on an upcoming exam. Afterward we attempted a few problems on a practice exam. We will continue working on the practice exams during our next session."
