Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, we covered some of the questions the student had while taking a practice assessment Math test (namely, trig). We also covered how to find compound interest, identify patterns in exponents, properties of complex numbers, evaluate rational expressions, basic properties of matrices, inverse and direct variation, and how to find the common factors of square roots in order to simplify the addition/subtraction/and multiplication of square roots."
"The student is doing so well on her prep! We reviewed the homework I had assigned. We reviewed the use of who, whom, that, which, etc. and pronoun agreement. We spent most of the session doing this type of practice, and then we transitioned to math practice. I had her select topics with which she felt she needed some more help, so we reviewed percents and ratios. I had her do a quiz, and then we reviewed it. With the remaining time, we went over some passage-based questions for critical reading, and I gave her some tips to manage her time on the reading section. For homework, I assigned a full-length test. I want her to take it under the same testing conditions that she will be taking her actual assessment. Next time, we will review her essay."
"I'm very excited about the student's Math aptitude. In the practice test we took his only mistakes were very minor. His understanding is quite good and we will focus on English and Composition for most of the rest of the sessions."
