Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In today's session, the student and I continued working on circuits, now integrating resistors, voltage sources, and capacitors into the same circuit diagrams. Most of our problems focused on applications of Kirchhoff's Loop and Junction rules, as well as rules for parallel and series combinations of resistors. I showed him some "shortcut" equations that will allow him to quickly calculate the equivalent resistances of combinations of identical resistors, as well as emphasized the value of using linear algebra techniques for solving the equations resulting from applying Kirchhoff's rules in complex circuits."
"The student and I reviewed motion under constant acceleration. We also covered adding vectors and finding their magnitude. I helped her with her problem solving and showed her how I thought through problems. Overall, she did not struggle with any one concept. She seemed to understand the strategies and logic behind each problem. I left the student with a couple of worksheets which totaled 8-10 problems. She clearly has the potential to succeed in her class."
"In this session we completed a practice test in preparation for her test that she has. She seemed to understand how to solve all of the problems and only struggled in a few areas. Overall, her confidence and skills are much stronger. I believe that the students biggest struggle at the moment is her confidence in her abilities. Additionally, we went over some test taking skills for physics."
