Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered how to find the domain of a function, how to find the equation of a circle, how to use the midpoint and distance formula, determine if lines are parallel/perpendicular, evaluate inequalities/exponents/logarithms/complex numbers/rational expressions/matrices, and we also covered direct and inverse variation."
"The student and I reviewed her assessment scores she got back yesterday and began work on her assessment test. She did well on the test and I expect her to have the same success on the assessment with the concepts we covered today."
"Today the student and I focused on the Science and English portions of the ACT. He had completed a practice exam over spring break. With the Science section, he mentioned struggling most with time. We identified some strategies that help him speed through the section, especially with the fighting scientists passages. He found these helpful, although less so for the Charts and Graphs/Experiments passages. With the English section, he is missing points on questions related to content-understanding (rhetorical skills & strategy), commas/punctuation, and paragraph rearrangement. However, when forced to stop and review the answers to his questions, he corrects 3 out of 4 errors. In the next two weeks, he will complete 2 more practice tests. We will meet and review both, as well as any final preparations before the exam. He has agreed to review the math on his own time."
