Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session, we worked on preparing for the student's exam in class. So again, we reviewed the usage and meaning of the pronouns she's been working on in class. We devoted most of the time to preparing study materials for her upcoming midterm, creating new charts for the noun declensions and what not. As much as she could, she was creating them from memory rather than directly copying them out of the book, so it worked well as a test of what she's learned, as well as the general benefit that comes from writing out material before studying it."
"Continued to read through book 1, ch. 22 of Caesar's Gallic War diaries; focused on grammatical constructions such as subjunctive verbs and indirect statement."
"We covered translation strategies from English to Latin and worked on time and place constructions. Overall, she seems much more comfortable with the content than our first meeting."
"The student and I went over several of his quizzes. We worked through translating some of the sentences from his book. He needs to review his noun and verb endings."
"Reviewed basics such as declension endings, verb forms, and participles in addition to reviewing/correcting a previous test and working on translation skills."
"We began with a rapid and successful review of noun endings (nominative, dative, accusative; singular and plural; and declensions 1-3) and of verb endings. We then reviewed vocabulary from chapter 9 against the student's quiz (including verbs' principal parts) from Tuesday."
