"The student and I followed our same format this lesson, starting with reading comp and moving on to logical reasoning. For reading comprehension, I encouraged her to read through the passage once very quickly - almost skimming it - to help her get a feel of what the passage as a whole is about. This should help her focus on the details that are important to the piece. We moved on to logical reasoning and worked on some flaw and parallel reasoning problems. We talked through the process of answering these, and I think our discussion helped her with these types of problems. We discussed how she should pick between answer choices that both seem okay to her. I encouraged her to always focus in on these choices, and then decide exactly what is different about them - whether it is a slight difference of meaning, a different term, a broader or narrower view, etc., so she can work on effectively deciding between the answer choices."
"We reviewed flaws in the logical reasoning section - going over the different types of logical fallacies and which ones appear most often (and how they appear). We also looked at the logic game."
"We worked on a mixed bag of arguments. He only missed 3 of the 28. He is set to go for the test next weekend."
