Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed some of the information that I know the student has struggled with recently, including prepositions, irregular past tense verbs, and informal commands. We also went over her vocabulary, which she had improved on significantly. She had the most trouble with the irregular verbs, so I gave her a few tricks to help her remember them. Otherwise, she seemed very prepared for her exam, and I'm looking forward to seeing her final grade."
"The student and I conversed about some general things to keep things fresh. We practiced some of the grammar concepts we have been working on, and ended by catching up about both of our plans."
"Yesterday we worked on a few things. First we went over the vocabulary for the student's new unit on art, materials, and shopping. Then we went over an assignment on demonstrative adjectives. Lastly, we practiced listening to questions and responding to them in preparation for an in-class exercise. I thought she did really well. We will need to do some review of verb conjugation and keep practicing that this semester."
"Student A: In this lesson we studied vocabulary related to traveling and also did listening, speaking and writing exercises about the topic. Student B: Today we practiced writing with an exercise about ecotourism in Latin America."
"This session, we covered more present tense verbs. The student is picking up more and more with practice, so it was very good practicing more with him. I think it will be good to keep working on the present tense for a couple more sessions. I have noticed that he is speaking more and more Spanish each week which is wonderful. I'm excited to see where our sessions can go and what more we can do."
"Today we continued with the subjunctive, checking other situations of when to use it but specially checking on irregular verbs. The student did a great job; at the beginning he was struggling, but at the end he was really confident of the uses of the subjunctive. He did all the research so I give him so much more credit for the success of the lesson than me. First we were answering some exercises that I brought, then he made his own."
