Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed his homework for the week, responded to his discussion forum, and discussed his writing assignment due next week."
"The student and I reviewed Chapter 12 today, both homework and lesson. She would like to be done with our lessons by August 15, so that she can begin the new semester unburdened by the last one."
"Student called me on short notice to do some chi-squared distribution homework. It was a short, one hour. I advised him to get a study book on statistics to supplement his textbook (for getting more grounded written concepts and practical examples that are more fully documented.) Today, we prepared for tomorrow's quiz working with t-II statistics and tests, and ANOVA. This involved working an example (pop corn), and problems (heart rate, minutes watching comedy TV) in the text, reading some sections of text carefully. We browsed his second of two project assignments to make sure it was well defined and manageable. It is a psychology survey of adult's feelings about their individual parents. The provided spreadsheets and notation appeared well explained in the project write-up. This project exercises all course subject up to this time."
"The student reviewed for a math test on integers and area. She also completed a science assignment on the moon."
"We went over the problems I assigned the student about log and exp functions. Since she's never worked with logarithms before, I had her solve each function in multiple ways. We created a sheet together with all of the rules she needs to remember to successfully solve each problem. This weekend, she will be emailing me her next review packet so that we can go over the material."
"We worked on forms of equations and then mental math to separate the two in his head. We believe on the test he could modulate between the two."
