Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we reviewed greetings in the language and learned how to conjugate the verb "estar". We also went over some interesting facts about Spain and Spanish culture."
"This was my first session meeting with the girls. I first talked to them to warm them up about very general topics and what they were doing in school. They both expressed a desire to speak Spanish like their father. I then did a brief assessment of their literacy skills in English, asking them to write their names, read a few words, etc. Then, I went over what they already knew in Spanish. From this I determined that they were complete beginners. We started learning the alphabet in Spanish, but one of the girls does not yet know the alphabet in English. I discussed with her parents that we should work on her first language alphabet recognition first, as it will make learning it in Spanish much easier. I informed the parents that I will have to use some of our designated time for creating materials and lessons to teach the girls."
"Covered preterite tenses, irregular verbs conjugations, rules for applying the tilde mark, and outliers in feminine vs masculine gender noun rules."
