Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We spent most of the session reviewing her problem set where we continued to work on equilibrium, mathematically and conceptually with Le Chatelier's principle."
"The student and I worked on a review for her exam. We mostly covered calculations pertaining to thermodynamics. We mostly covered calculations pertaining to thermodynamics. We worked on determining when to use the lesions and how to understand the concept of enthalpy. We talked about time management when it comes to exams and the need to skip problems that are harder and come back and work on them later in the exam."
"This week, the student is working on acid-base chemistry, especially the concepts of pH and pOH. We spent the first part of the session going over the Bronsted-Lowry model of acids and bases, protonation and de-protonation, dissociation, and autoionization of water. We also covered the relationship between pH and H+ concentration (and pOH / OH- conc.), briefly reviewing the logarithmic scale, and discussed principle of chemical equilibrium, specifically introducing the water constant Kw. In addition to the assigned homework problems, I left him with a set of practice exercises on stoichiometry and limiting reagents."
