Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on balancing chemical equations, covering a little bit of naming conventions. Specific strategies, like balancing hydrogen, oxygen, or free atoms last helped to give her a framework in which to solve problems. She had an extensive worksheet which I had worked through previously, which I left her to check over her own answers."
"During our session, we discussed the basic concepts of bases/acids and their relationship to pH. We started by discussing the definition of a base and acid and how to identify them in a reaction. We then did problems involving bases/acids and their conjugate pairs. Afterwards, the student showed me what he had been learning in class and we did several practice problems from a worksheet. They mostly involved the concept of pH indicators and how they change in an acidic or basic environment. He was very receptive to the information as was shown by his ability to complete the practice problems towards the end."
"The student and I prepared for her upcoming test in acids and bases. We mainly used her class notes and her homework problems since they closely resembled her actual tests. She has a great understanding in acids and bases and feels confident."
