Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, the student and I reviewed the material that will be covered on her midterm next Friday. These included the reflexive pronouns, preterite, imperfect, and vocabulary. The student appears to understand the material very well, however, I recommend to practice verbs, composing sentences, and reviewing new vocabulary words."
"Today we covered a lot of the daily routine. The student has a strong grasp of this and using reflective verbs. We did a dictation and then changed the verb tense to yo form, including a lot of conjugating and q and a."
"The student and I solved a couple exercises from her book. The first one covered indirect object pronouns and preterite conjugations. The second one was a reading comprehension exercise about dating in Latin America. She needs to work on her vocabulary, so that she can better understand the material. Also, I shared with her a few techniques on learning vocabulary and answering tests."
"I met with the student and went over her strengths and weaknesses from her previous Spanish studies. She is focused and eager to learn her medical terminology as it is used daily in her work place. Strategies and practices were emailed to her to practice on her own. We also went over the basics of Spanish."
"We spent the majority of the time practicing for the student's test. We talked about food and took turns being a waitress and a customer. We studied some of her irregular verbs and played Memory Match to work on conjugations. She is doing very well with pronunciation and sentence structure. I told her that if she works on memorizing her list she will do very well on her exam."
"During this session we covered reflexive verbs. We practiced conjugating the verbs in the present and the preterite tense. We then used each verb in a sentence. Then we used a memory technique to remember the meaning of the words - coming up with a phrase including the word that helps remind us of the meaning. The assignment required that the student draw and color a picture for each verb to use imagery to reinforce learning. He was to do that on his own. He also received a new list of words this week that he needs to learn on his own. We decided to meet on Saturday this week as well to work in some extra practice."
