Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we went over the student's previous exam. She found that she understood most of the problems after rewriting the questions clearly line by line instead of jumbled up as it was presented in the exam. Then, we went over the difference between functions and sub procedures."
"I worked with the student on reviewing his homework about Number Systems as well as administering to him his vocab quiz. After that, I had him start working on reviewing non-decimal to decimal, then assigned him decimal to non-decimal problems, which continued on to be homework. He ended the class working on online material. He learned recursion for this class, and then was given a sample problem set as a quiz, which he has to correct for homework. I've assigned him reading for homework. The girl was very efficient and got all of her work done early and had time to start on her homework. She started the class brainstorming her next project, which will be coding an animation of a scene from Finding Nemo. She will be using a coding environment to do so. She did some coding and I went over a few PowerPoint lessons with her regarding the system, as well as coding topics. We covered class level and world level methods as well as parameters and arguments. She ended class with another quiz."
"We spent the majority of the session reviewing refactoring on some of the code so that we could implement the search functions correctly and also make sure that the shopping cart part of the program would work. On Thursday we are going to go over review material for the midterm."
