Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered various types of problems mostly dealing with colligative properties. He needed a little guidance on knowing which types of equations to use. However, after a few practice problems, he understood them correctly. He understands the problems very easily once I show him, but needs to work on starting on his own. He has his own practice problems to work on. Overall, this was a good session."
"We went over the concepts of electrochemistry, the Nernst equation, and the common ion effect. We went over some practice problems and did some together. We also dealt with the rate law and how to calculate it and the fact that it has to be calculated by experiment all the time."
"We worked on a couple of problems on the student's homework. There were few times he entered numbers wrong on his calculator but he realized what went wrong. And knowing him, he will do good on the exam. His knowledge of concepts in this chapter is strong too."
"Today we covered force and motion. Since it was our first session, we started off getting to know each other. I am impressed with how much effort the student puts into his assignments and the amount of understanding he already possesses with physics and math. His teacher is Russian and often gives lectures and assignments (including quizzes and tests) with broken English, so, despite his high level of understanding, the student still worries about keeping up and answering test questions. Today, we reviewed homework questions and worked through them. It was quickly apparent that he has a lot of strengths when it comes to physics. He is able to understand the problems quickly and manipulate equations with ease, which will be a great benefit in the future. I was impressed with how quick he came up with answers and strategies! So far, I haven't seen him struggling. As of right now, he has a strong grasp of concepts and application."
"We completed preparation for the student's test and study materials. We compiled aspects of study questions for IB style format. Plus we highlighted important note card information."
"We went over time management skills for studying that the student had questions about in addition to covering some materials in his chemistry class regarding concepts he felt not as strong with until he understood them fully and was able to solve them on his own."
