Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session we went over 3 extra credit questions. The questions dealt with Balancing Chemical equations, Acid Base Neutralization, Redox reactions, Precipitates, ideal gas laws, stoichiometry, mole conversions, etc. Overall this session went well. The student needs to work on memorizing polyatomic ions and solubility rules."
"We worked on algebra today. We discussed the differences between a arithmetic and geometric series and how to determine which sequence was which. We also worked on finding the first five terms of a sequence. The student didn't have any problems working with sequences."
"Reviewed for upcoming test over chemical equilibria. Completed review packet over material. Focused on vocabulary, using equilibrium constant to determine concentrations, Le Chatelier's principle, and common ion effect."
"We reviewed what subjects had been covered in the student's online class up to this point. We covered the chemical aspect of biology, talking about elements and what makes up atoms. We then reviewed prokaryotic vs eukaryotic cells and went through the cell organelles and their functions. We reviewed protein synthesis and talked about what subjects are coming up. We will meet again in 2 days and continue from where we left off, covering subjects her online class has covered up to this point. She is a very nice young lady and listens and responds well. I let her borrow a biology book that I've used in the past to teach beginning biology. She will bring it to sessions when we meet."
"We went over her weekly schedule, her email (she didn't have any since the last time we met), and went over her sections for PSAT."
"We covered the subjects of cellular respiration and fermentation. We covered the different processes and how they work under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. We also went through the accounting of how much energy is produced."
