Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session spent time reviewing for the student's test. The test review covered material such as exponential multiplication, decay and growth, linear functions, and compounding interest. The student has a good understanding of the material and I feel he will do well on his test."
"The student and I continued to review solving problems that involve absolute values and inequalities. We then continued on to past work with probability and solving for equations of lines based on given information."
"Solving system linear equations. She worked very hard to learn the material. Gave her a 11 step approach to work the problems."
"This was our first tutoring session. We began the session by having the student show me what she is doing in class currently and what she wants to work on. She wanted to work on finding the MAD (mean absolute deviation) and IQR (interquartile range), so we did a few practice problems together, then I had her complete a few practice problems on her own. We also practiced the other topics in unit 4, which consisted of finding the mean, median, mode, and range of a data set, and plotting that data set on a box-plot."
"The student has a quiz tomorrow over solving systems with graphing, substitution, and elimination. I gave him a number of practice problems of each type and he definitely had the methods down. I showed him how to check answers so he would know on the quiz if he did them right before turning it in."
"We continued to work through the student's homework packet. The material we worked on included adding and subtracting polynomials, multiplying polynomials and properties of polynomials. We spent time on each section as I explained to her how the algebra was to be done and then she completed practice problems. She understood the material quickly."
