Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"For homework, I had the student write out the first two dialogues of the unit, then verbally quizzed her on them at the beginning of the session. We did the same for the next to dialogues, which she'll write out for this week's homework. Her reading comprehension is at 90, so she's very close moving on to the next unit."
"We had a great session today. The student was practicing what we learned last time so she was making progress in both vocabulary and pronunciation. We reviewed what we learned last time, like counting, family members and animals, and foods. And we learned how to say all the body parts in Chinese today and start building simple sentences in Chinese."
"The student and I covered the first dialogue of Chinese. We went over the new words and characters and how to pronounce them. She plans to buy the textbook, workbook, and character workbook so that we can focus on grammar during our sessions. I left her with some character writing to do for next week."
"I spent the first hour and a half working with Student 1 on a Social Studies essay and some math problems. I spent the remaining time working with Student 2 on Mandarin. We reviewed some vocabulary and worked more on telling the date and time in Chinese."
"Learned 'saying thanks' in Mandarin. Reviewed previous phrases and sentences. Home work is to practice tones and new words."
"Today, the student and I worked on discussion of the apparent plural form 'kunden' with the matching definite article."
