Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered the sine and cosine curves (and ways to manipulate them), Tension Vectors, The law of sine and cosine, and polar coordinates in preparation for the student's test."
"The student and I worked through several practice problems using the angle sum, angle difference, and double angle formulas for sine, cosine, and tangent."
"Today we got a lot done. First we started with Trigonometry homework. There was two exercises that needed to be done. He had tried to do the first few problems but was still hesitant on the material. I reviewed the unit again then started the worksheet with him and let him complete it on his own. Once that was completed, we went on to his English homework. He had to do practice one and two. Lastly, we moved on to history. He had a test the following day, so we decided to go over his review sheet. He worked really hard today and remained focused throughout the whole session."
"We started our study of conic sections by working with parabolas - the x and y intercepts, axis of symmetry, vertex, focus, directrix, etc. The student learned about how various parts of quadratic functions affect their graphs."
"The student's class is now learning about exponential and logarithmic functions. We started with his homework, by way of which I was able to go over half life problems, construction of exponential functions, population growth and half life problems. Then we discussed logarithms, and we watched a video about the logarithmic scale. We finished up with the rest of his homework, more exponential problems."
"We talked about confidence intervals for the z and t distributions. Went over a couple examples and freelanced a few more. We also discussed calculator functions for graphing and replicating table values."
