Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We discussed Type I and Type II errors associated with hypothesis testing. He was to discuss the way that these errors could be made and to explain the errors themselves with regards to specific situations and hypotheses. He took to this easily compared to previous topics."
"This session I helped the client prepare for a test he had on the day of the session, the second one of the semester. We went over using a z value table to discover raw score for a given percentile and area under a normal curve. We also discussed sampling methods and other basic terms that would appear on his test. Although the client was still having some difficulties, he seemed to understand the concepts and methodology in preparation for the test."
"Today, we talked about random variables and some discrete distributions including binomial, geometric, negative binomial, and hypergeometric. I walked her through the definitions and then we worked on some examples. Afterwards, she worked on homework problems and showed a very good understanding of the materials."
"The student has her final coming up on Wednesday. Her final is mostly on z-tests, t-tests, independent samples t-test, and related samples t-test. She had some worksheets that outlined each type of test. We thoroughly covered an example of each type of test together."
"We started by reviewing some of the quizzes the student has taken until now. He does very well with conceptual problems, but appears to get stuck when problems involve algebra or formulas. The session focused on various concepts including means, variances, histograms, dot plots, and stem and leaf plots."
"The student and I went over many different problems from her review for her test. Good luck on your test!"
