Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Review work done in previous week. Went over logical reasoning questions that student had trouble with and discussed setups for logic games. Talked about timing going forward."
"The student is familiar with the general concepts of the LSAT. She indicated she is challenged with timing. She also asked to review the assumption and weaken/strengthen logical reasoning questions. We went over several of those questions during the session, and tried to work out possible strategies for her to answer the questions. She has been taught to diagram them, and that has worked for her in the past, but it's time-consuming. We discussed the possibility of looking for keywords in conclusions, premises, and answer choices in lieu of diagramming. She will try both methods and see which is most effective for her. On some games problems she discussed her concerns about certain problems taking too long. I recommended skipping problems that would obviously be time-consuming, and first answering questions that are faster, to pick up the maximum number of points. Finally, we discussed question strategies in reading comprehension: looking for detail questions and answering them first, and possibly focusing on 3 passages rather than 4 for more accuracy. She will take practice tests this week and we will discuss any missed problems in next week's session."
"In this last session, the student and I focused on logical reasoning problems and continued working on strategies for these questions. We then talked general strategies about the LSAT and law school application."
