Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, we primarily focused on the student's test preparation. We worked together to complete her review packet. She took notes as we talked about the constructed response questions. We also worked to memorize those responses. Her current algebra 2 material/homework is easy for her, so we didn't spend time on it. Instead, we moved on to make sure that she understood her chemistry homework. She was doing conversion from molar mass to mols to atoms. This is primarily math, and while she understood the basics of the concept, we worked to make sure she was fluent in the techniques before her quiz today."
"We worked on the exams from two previous years. The student is feeling a little more confident about the subject matter. Her main concern is on vocab. I usually go over the vocab and break down the concepts as we go along. It seems to be helping, and she is getting more comfortable."
"The student and I reviewed key issues 1 and 2 from chapter 12 of his textbook. It was a complicated chapter, but he did a really good job of understanding the nuances of the harder concepts. We focused on market areas, in particular. His teacher is assigning him a hefty amount of reading in the next week, so we may need to do several sessions to cover it all in the next few days."
