Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on the graphical calculations of finding the y=mx+b form of line equations from two points. We also found equations for the lines parallel and perpendicular to other lines through these same calculations."
"For the first hour of the session the student and I reviewed and clarified several topics in geometry that were to be covered on her homework and upcoming quiz. The homework was predominantly on angles formed by parallel and transverse lines, and small proofs. For the last thirty minutes, I showed her the study guide I made her for cell biology. We discussed and learned the different functions of organelles in a cell, and started making flashcards."
"We reviewed some systems of equations to use later with symmetry problems. The student was comfortable with dilation and understanding the basics of symmetry. I introduced several symmetry concepts and worked on some parallel line bisector problems. The student started to get more comfortable with writing out all of his work at the end of the session, and he will be more and more comfortable with it as time progresses."
"The student has visited with her teacher and they have tried to identify a better route to help improve her studying. She had a test the following day and we worked through review packets to help her prepare. She commented that she felt comfortable with the material and was ready for her test in the morning. We will continue to work with her teacher to better address her weaknesses."
"The student and I worked through a homework packet that she was assigned. We began solving for angles using algebra and angle theorems."
"The student and I reviewed for her upcoming final exam. Topics covered included a comprehensive review of the class, such as geometric proofs, algebraic equations, and logic statements."
