Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we briefly reviewed ratios as we did last session. The student appears to have a great handle on them! The rest of the time was spent studying for his exam tomorrow, which will cover quadrilaterals. He did problems from his review sheet and similar problems that I made up. I am very confident that he will do well on his test tomorrow."
"He had an online assignment to complete 20 problems first. He solved most of the problems by explaining very well and had small helps for only a couple problems. Then we moved to his geometry assignment about 12 important polygons' names. And a question is how to figure out interior sum, one interior angle, exterior sum, one exterior angle if number of sides is given. We addressed that question together to see what formulas we can apply for all polygons. After that he explained and solved 7 related problems correctly. That shows me he has the ability to observe and interpret formulas into other problems and polygons."
"The student and I went over his homework assignment. We discussed similar triangles, congruent triangles, and the theorems of angles and triangles. After discussing those problems we went over probabilities for a little bit."
"The student and I worked through his Geometry project this day. He seemed to be well focused on the successful completion of his term in school. We also looked through his other classes to addresses grades and issues that needed his attention."
"The student and I reviewed for her upcoming final exam. Topics covered included geometric means, trigonometric ratios, and similarity ratios."
"We covered the function for circles and its relationship to the distance formula. The student at first struggled with equating the distance formula to the circle. After a few examples, he began to grasp the connection. He was doing well manipulating the equations and solving systems of equations."
