"We worked through fraction reduction through a math site. Then we played a fraction reduction game utilizing number tiles."
"We worked on her Math and I walked her through some strategies to use when completing mathematic expressions. We also worked on number patterns, she struggled with the two step problems. She had a better understanding after we went through a few."
"The student brought both tests that she just got back today. We were able to work through all of the problems, which were topics we'd worked on in the past."
"When we started, the student requested that we work on his reading homework first. He learned about diabetes, insulin, and the meaning of the words "euthanize" and "sedate" through a reading about a baboon who had diabetes. We then moved onto the math word problems first: he had to find the area of a composite shape (a rectangle and triangle together), and he did it very fast. He then started solving for rate word problems (easy for him) and had to find the area of circles on his own after I left (he felt good doing them on his own)."
"The student and I worked on math and his book report project due Monday. The math consisted of reflex online and math homework on paper. The math homework consisted of multiplying fractions and solving word problems with charts. We continued working on his project for the book he read. He did well with the material tonight. He had a great attitude. He has a test on Friday in social studies. I'm working with him to make sure he is prepared and does well on the test."
"I worked with both students for the first time today. I interviewed them on their attitude towards math and reading. I told them to ask plenty of questions and also to ask for help when needed. Student A showed difficulty working on decimal time lines. I used several visuals and I believe with practice she will greatly improve. Student B had 2-step problems. She showed some hesitancy on how to solve the problems, but with practice she seemed to understand them. We will practice finding the keywords and their meanings."
