Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, we worked through some problems that the student still had in his final assignment. He had questions about the following: (1) registering a timer event to remove something from the screen; (2) some small issues with the "shrinking" of his snake; (3) Some more remarks about the logic for new additions; (3) a few other small bug fixes."
"The student was very receptive to material presented. She expressed satisfaction at the end of the lesson. She now feels ready for her internship."
"We covered the differences between C and C++. We reviewed a simple program demonstrating the usage of the standard library, the linker, the compiler, the make program and included files. We covered main and the usage of printf and stdin. This required a discussion of arrays and memory layout for programs. We discussed the architecture of most computers including ALU, decoder and memory blocks. I was able to bring and share several books. The student chose "The C Programming Language" to borrow and start studying further. Next session will cover any questions that arise during the week from this text. We also discussed the field of general computation algorithms and why they are useful (efficiency with large data sets). This session mostly covered the programming and runtime environment. Next time, we will start diving into specific language features. The student seemed excited and interested about the subject area."
