Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued where we left on Friday. He's making progress in the substitution work, and in remembering his other calculus 1 skills. I began with a review of the unit circle and how we can use it to compute various inverse trigonometric functions. Then I explained how to use a table of integrals to quickly solve some trigonometric integrals. We ended with a discussion about hyperbolic trigonometric functions and how to use them in calculus."
"In this session, I helped the student with extended concepts of probability, factorials, combination and permutation notation. Then, she tried some practice problems while I guided her through them with problem-solving strategies. I also had her work on some problems that I have covered before. At the end of our session, I left her with some more problems for more practice. She is making steady and good progress, and in the next session, I will continue discussing the combination and permutation as well as any materials that she would like to discuss."
"The student and I went over his recent test on fractions. We went over the test and corrected the problems he had questions on. We also went through the problems in his review packet."
"The student and I continued to work on her mastery of fractions. With a lot of reinforcement, she seems to be understanding the concepts."
"The student has a number of study packets he is working on in his lead up to finals so we covered a lot of subjects today. He worked on a math review for an upcoming test. He also worked on his constitution test, the Supreme Court section, and finally, he worked on science, reviewing force and acceleration and Newton's laws of motion."
"We went over a good portion of the material from chapter ten. We also worked through the study guide the student was given for his quiz on Friday. I gave him some test taking strategies and some extra practice on the new material he learned on Thursday. I also suggested that he work through the odd problems of section 10.7 so that he could have a bit of additional practice before the quiz."
