Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"After making sure that the student had successfully memorized the pronouns and verb conjugations, we covered common/ useful expressions. We also looked at words for family and work relationships. We are moving at a pace that she feels comfortable with and that suits her needs. During every session so far, I have recorded myself speaking new words so that she can listen to them in her spare time. She has expressed that this is helpful to her."
"Reviewed Spanish assignment with the student, which stressed four different instances of using ser, to be, in the present tense. Reviewed how to express days of the week, dates of the month, numbers (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing), and telling time. In each review, we stressed new vocabulary words, why one would use ser, and conjugations of ser in the present tense. Reviewed concepts of singular and plural nouns and first vs. second vs. third person. Taught the student reasons behind the spelling and pronunciations of numbers in Spanish. Also reviewed an English assignment on antecedents, once again stressing gender identity of nouns, singular vs. plural, and first versus second versus third person. Finally, reviewed legend of founding of Tenochtitlan with the student."
"The student is getting better at expressing feelings and emotions using Estar phrases and we worked on reviewing days of the week, months, and colors with simple sentences."
