Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"My first GMAT tutoring session with the student went well. As she expressed in our introductory call, she needs help on both the Quantitative and Verbal sections of the GMAT. We started our session by going over the Problem Solving questions that the student had trouble with in her GMAT Quantitative Review book. She liked the geometry questions but was challenged by questions involving lengthy arithmetic, percentages, two-variable equations, fractions, or square roots. I suggested that reading through the Math Review included in the book will help her feel more comfortable with the mathematical concepts included in the GMAT. We then discussed overall strategies for her exam day, and moved to the Data Sufficiency section. I referred the student to the Data Sufficiency question chart in the book, and we applied those steps to find the correct answer to each question. Finally, we reviewed questions in the GMAT Verbal Review book. We determined strategies for Reading Comprehension questions, Critical Reasoning questions, and Sentence Correction questions, including writing down your own answer to a question before looking at the answer choices. For our next tutoring session, the student will complete additional practice questions in the Problem Solving and Data Sufficiency sections of the GMAT Quantitative Review book."
"We reviewed the math practice test the student took. He made some mistakes, but understood most everything upon review. We also went over Quadratics, consecutive numbers and some other topics."
"We covered data sufficient problems involving inequalities, absolute values, percentages, and systems of equations, as well as probability and algebra problems."
