"The student has completed the introductory paragraph of his thesis, but has not yet received any feedback; this week he was working on the conclusion. The student wanted to discuss algebra, a form of solving quadratic equations to determine the vertex point of a parabola: vertex form. I gave the student links to a video on writing equations in vertex form using completing the square on a google doc. I asked the student to pause the video at certain sections to check his understanding, and to make sure he didn't have any questions before the video continued. He followed along for the entire lesson. His feedback on the video was positive. Prior to watching the video, he was uncertain of how to extract the vertex coordinates from the quadratic equation, but now he feels that the steps were explained clearly in the video. I wrote summary notes, including bullet points, and steps for writing equations in vertex form to extract the coordinates of the vertex point. I also included a method that the student could use to check his work. I included two additional video links on the shared google document; the videos explain a method called completing the square to solve for two values of x. I shared my notes with the student and his parents on google docs."
"We covered the Case Study Method (6 steps). We worked through a case study the client is presently preparing for his International Business class. We began to set the strategy for our next four day session starting next Friday."
"Today, we went over business specific phrases and idioms for the student to start assimilating into her vocabulary. We continued to practice pronunciation and worked on preposition use."
