Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We completed the student's study guide on derivatives, tangent lines, the relationship between position, velocity, and acceleration, and applications of derivatives."
"The student is continuing to excel with respect to his differentiation skills. His teacher has kept the class steady with the material they are working on and it looks like they will continue to stay relatively close to this topic until their first exam within the next two weeks. The student feels pretty comfortable with most of what he's learned thus far. We reviewed a couple of things yesterday, including implicit differentiation. The student and I agree that come his exam, he will do well and any difficulties he might've had should be minimized by then. There are two problem sets that I sent him. These cover around 30-40 questions and should be sufficient to supplement his homework in helping him study and prepare. He shows the ability to learn quickly."
"We worked on determining function behavior from first and second derivatives. We looked at graphs and equations. Lastly, we considered the implications of domains for difficult functions and interpreting the 1st derivative (range)."
"Today we worked on finding areas between curves. This mostly consisted of evaluating definite integrals, and then taking the difference of each area."
"Today the student and I worked on normal lines, tangent lines, product rule, quotient rule, radicals, and derivatives of polynomials."
"Today we did on-paper problems involving mostly second derivative of functions. We estimated second derivatives graphically, as well as analytically using derivatives of the derivative. In addition, we introduced implicit differentiation and did two problems regarding that. The student is well versed in derivatives and very accurate in his calculations. He is doing well in class as far as score is concerned."
