Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student was preparing for an exam on resistors, capacitors, and circuits involving them (including RC series circuits). We spent some time with Kirchhoff's loop rule, junction rule, and how to use them to solve various problems. We also touched on the properties of resistors and capacitors in series. We will continue this tomorrow night."
"We went over chemical bonding, Lewis dot structure stabilization, and lattice structure energy calculation. The student had a great attitude toward the reviewed material."
"Tonight, we went over phylogenetics and classification. We first spent time drawing the phylogenetic tree for the student's homework. After reviewing his homework, we reviewed his PowerPoint slides and went over practice questions."
"During this session, we went over questions on bonding. We went over all the different types of bonds, both intra and intermolecular, and did a couple of questions the student had from her assignment and prep book. Overall, this session went well."
"We went over conversion from molecules to moles to grams and vice versa. We also started working from moles to liters and vice versa, although that is what the student will be doing in class tomorrow. He grasped the concept well."
"We specifically discussed kidney function and regulation and several aspects of nerve function. Going forward, we will divide the sessions between some mini-lectures on the week's scheduled topic, answering her questions about the reading, working through practice problems from her books and the platform, and looking at some relevant free-response questions from old AP tests."
