Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had 2 assignments to complete in the book to decide whether to use the imperfect vs. preterite. We focused on identifying the correct subject so he could correctly conjugate the given verbs. We then worked on new vocabulary. It helped that his mom printed out all the homework from the blog."
"The student did very well today! I am very happy with his progress. We did a review of the subjunctive tense. We then practiced speaking the rest of the time, using pictures and videos. We finished up with a game of 20 questions."
"The student and I continued where we left off on Tuesday by discussing irregular verbs and their conjugations. We talked about some of the most common irregular verbs, their conjugations, their stems, spellings, and meanings. We discussed the difference between ser and estar and conjugated both. We practiced different scenarios in which one would be used over the other. Finally, he and I worked on memorizing reflexive verbs on a list his teacher gave him in preparation for his quiz tomorrow! All in all, it was a very good session. He is attentive, conscientious, and easy-going. I hope our work on reflexive verbs helps him on his quiz tomorrow."
"The student and I did an extra session today in preparation for her exam tomorrow in Spanish 2. We went over preterit forms again. We also did memorization drills for vocabulary. Then, we went over demonstrative adjectives. Then, I taught her some neat techniques for taking language exams in order to ensure a correct translation. We went over note cards we made and made a few more, until she had all her vocabulary memorized. All in all, I think she is becoming a very dedicated student, and I think she will do well on her exam tomorrow."
"The student did really well on his homework that we went over and he has been doing well on his exams. His grade is good, and he could be doing even better. Future sessions will benefit him to continue to raise his grade."
"The student and I worked on translating sentences that involve describing how much time has passed. She has made a lot of improvements with her vocabulary (especially by using flashcards), but there are still some basic skills that we will continue to review so that she can more easily recall them. She also did well with the vocabulary in the language app; we went over the vocabulary for clothing, which is one of her favorite topics!"
