Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed recent notes on re-dox equations today, and the student completed this week's homework using the text and class notes. She grasps the concepts quickly and translated the concepts to solving the homework questions. She received her most recent quiz, scoring 9/10 for an improved grade. Also, her 3rd quarter grade improved greatly, so her improvement since starting tutoring, is substantial. She will check the homework before submission to ensure that it reflects the most recent experiments and notes."
"Today's session was spent going over elementary reactions, reaction diagrams, and the Arrhenius equation. We looked at the effect of the rate-determining step on the overall rate of reactions. We also observed the effect of activation energy and temperature on reaction rate."
"Finished worksheet on enthalpy. Reviewed basic concept of enthalpy and how it differs from temperature. Focused on using specific heat capacity of a substance to determine the amount of energy needed to change the temperature. Also reviewed the underlying chemistry behind phase changes and the energy needed to cause a phase change. Finished with problems combining specific heat capacity and phase changes to bring a substance in one phase at a given temperature through a phase change to a different temperature. Spent last 30 minutes working on completing an algebra worksheet over simplifying rational expressions."
