Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed the entirety of Chapter 10 (Food and Agriculture) in preparation for his test on Friday. We focused especially on the "Key Terms." Since we're getting closer to the exam date, we also spent time outlining a potential FRQ (one on agriculture from the 2008 exam). He did a good job, and he has additional time tomorrow to prepare for the exam. I think he'll do quite well."
"I provided the student with a diffusion power point to help him catch up with some material he had missed by enrolling in the class late. I also created some multiple choice questions dealing with diffusion examples and then added religious difference questions. We used the last few moments to discuss types of questions to expect."
"The student heeded my advice and got a 3 ring binder which was great. He now seems organized and hopefully he can remain organized as the semester continues. I tried to explain to the student the importance of reading the material and offered a few ideas and tips as to how best he could study. We spent most of the session creating some flash cards for his upcoming test. I would point out keywords, the student would tell me what he could about them, and then I would expand on his knowledge so that he could write all he needed on the flash cards."
