"We discussed the poem "Balada de los abuelos." We went through the poem line by line and analyzed it and we also answered specific questions that his teacher had provided regarding the poem's details and themes. The teacher had also given the student a list of literary devices that I helped him to define, and we later went back through the text to find examples of each one."
"The student did a composition about buying clothes. We corrected it. He did a good job, and I only had to correct minor details. For next class, he will continue to prepare a composition about returning cloths to the store, and review the vocabulary."
"The concepts we worked on today included verb tense formation practice, specifically with the future, conditional, preterite, and imperfect tenses in Spanish. We then reviewed a writing sample that the student is working on for an in class presentation. I pointed out the errors, as she made the necessary corrections. I made sure that she knew what was wrong in each of the mistakes. We then looked at a sample of the free response section from the AP test, to give her an idea of what she will be working towards in preparation for the exam at the end of the year. Next week, we are planning to focus on technical details and practice with deciding which verb tenses to use in different situations. For extra practice, I gave her some worksheets for practice with different verb tenses. The student is a strong writer, which comes through in her work samples. She has a desire to do well, which is a wonderful quality to have."
"The student and I worked on helping her construct an in-class essay based on a reading, incorporating different tenses and vocabulary. We will meet next on Wednesday night to study some more of the content of the reading before the quiz on Thursday."
"Today's lesson consisted of editing the student's written page homework, focusing on masculine and feminine words, past tense conjugation, personal and object pronouns, and vocabulary. We had a discussion and gave examples on how the language changes with culture and time. The student's homework was to write about the her week using past and present tense along with other grammar to continue working on these areas."
"We prepared for a presentation that the student will be giving this week, and we reviewed some assigned readings w/accompanying reading comprehension questions. Additionally, I had the student read some of the assigned passages aloud, to work on pronunciation."
