Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I had emailed his teacher as to what would be on the final. She gave me the possible prompts for his verbal final. We went through some responses to the prompts and perfected the grammar and pronunciation."
"We did a few quick write essays plus went over the student's homework writing. We worked on pronunciation (u, ou, i) and also did dictation. We have both really enjoyed doing dictation work, as it is a great way to learn grammar and pronunciation. The student has gotten SO GOOD at it; it is very impressive how much she can pick up even with vocabulary she is unfamiliar with. Our conversations have also been more and more fluid."
"Reviewed for a test tomorrow including conjugating irregular verbs in the conditional tense and heavy reviewed the use of indirect and direct object pronouns, as well as forming the negative response."
"I helped the student prepare for his midterm. His teacher gave him a list of terms and verbs to study and I corrected some homework that I gave to him last week. Also, I gave him more homework for our extra sessions before his midterm in a few days."
"We discussed a few pronunciation rules for his AP. We also talked about the use of the subjunctive. We also covered some last writing questions he had. Finally, we did a practice speaking test. I also gave him some more words of encouragement."
"We reviewed nominative and accusative endings, practiced identifying them in context, went over the declension charts for 1st, 2nd and 3rd declension, and translated a passage. The student has greatly improved her knowledge of nominative and accusative, only misidentifying a case twice. Her grasp of 1st declension endings has similarly improved, although she still needs a word bank to complete the 2nd and 3rd declension charts."
