Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We finished writing about the Philosophes from Roussea to Voltaire, we compared the political theory of Hobbes and Locke, wrote about the contributions of Bacon and Descartes to the scientific method, and set the stage for the ideas that informed the French Revolution."
"This was our first session of the new semester, so to start out we went over the grades from last semester (which were excellent!) and decided a schedule and plan of attack for the upcoming semester. We worked on notes for World History, and began a new system for organization"
"The student asked for an extra session to prepare for his essays on the world history final. We went over drafts of his, and I pointed out areas he could add and parts of the textbook he might reference. By the end of the session, he felt much more confident going into the test, and I could see he had a much better command of the information."
"We worked on the student's newest review packet on the Reconstitution period. I did not leave him with any additional practice and I did not see any grades, though he told me he thought he did quite well on the Civil War test he recently took."
"We continued to work on a poem together, briefly. I then tested the student's idioms knowledge- he had 86% of his idioms correct. We then studied Maryland's colonial history. We concluded by reading a section of realistic fiction, the story "Just Grace"."
"We reviewed the Carter and Reagan years during this session. This was a lot of material to cover, but we are reaching the end of the material for this class. The student will review the remaining material before the exam, but she felt comfortable with the material we did cover."
