"The student asked me questions about some arithmetic problems I had assigned for her to do between sessions, and I helped clarify them for her. We then did some additional arithmetic problems, starting with Problem Solving and moving on to Data Sufficiency."
"The student discussed her most recent practice exam. I reviewed the math topics related to those questions that she recalled and also covered strategies on how to approach tougher questions. I covered math content involving rates and work, algebra, number properties, averages, and standard deviation. I recommended a math strategy book by a famous math professor. Overall, I taught the student how to approach the difficult math problems and how to guide her computation by analyzing the answer choices."
"In this session we spent the first hour going over the student's geometry homework for her class. We then spent the rest of the time going over permutations, combinations, sets and percentage problems. We also talked about process of elimination and estimating when pressed for time in the exam."
"During this session, we continued to review quantitative concepts, focusing on work problems, mixture problems, and interest problems. Before the next session, the student will review arithmetic concepts from the review book and continue working on math diagnostic exercises. For next session, we plan to review compound interest, discounts, profits, and sets."
"We worked on a practice test, specifically on the quantitative section to begin with. We also began to identify the types of quant questions that will be asked --sufficiency of data, for example. Student displayed a good grasp of most of the problems; we worked on ways to simplify the questions to avoid having to perform calculations...e.g., solving by inspection."
