Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had a test coming up and wanted to review the information that would be on her test. We discussed the identity properties of the e and natural log function. I explained the differentiation patterns of both functions as well and integral techniques involved with manipulating the integration of an expression to fit the integration of natural log. After we discussed the information that was presented to her in the chapter, she was able to complete the corresponding homework with little assistance."
"The student is showing great progress in mastering advanced 5th Grade Math skills! Today we focused on synthesizing his knowledge of converting between fractions, percents, and decimals into solving real-world word problems. He had an initial tendency to stray from the primary techniques used to solve these conversion word problems, but in later problems this deviation allowed him to find alternate ways to solve the questions, which is great for him to learn to come to his own understanding of the concepts."
"Concepts: Finding Rational & Irrational 0s in Polynomial Equations Areas for Growth: Word Problems Extra Practice: emailed an Algebra 2 textbook that contains extra practice problems Progress: B on last quiz & is making less minor errors"
"The student didn't have any new topics that he wanted to review so we went ahead and learned some new material that his class will cover in the next sections. He just learned ratios, so we applied them in finding lengths of similar polygons and finding scale factors."
"We completed the student's homework assignment for Section 7-1: ratios and proportions. She got 19/20 on her last quiz. Her attitude is excellent. Another plus is that she uses the same textbook as my other student. This first session went very well."
"Today, we worked on simplifying and multiplication and division of rational functions. I clarified for him what values of x are excluded values, and by the end of the session he was able to simplify and state the excluded values with ease."
