Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has been working with commands, including positive and negative tu, usted, and ustedes commands. We made a visual map of the various command tenses and their conjugations with examples of each, and we practiced translating sentences using each of the tenses."
"We completed a reading comprehension activity by reading and translating a story in the beginning of the current unit the student's class is working on and then responded to fill in the blank and true or false questions that followed. We also worked on reviewing definitions/ meaning of vocabulary related to family life and feelings as well as verbs used in the imperfect tense."
"Guided with H.W. on verbs "ser" & "estar"; reviewed rules for reflexive verbs, completed some exercises; reviewed rules for Direct Object Pronouns ad completed exercises. The student is a fast learner and picks up on concepts easily. I try to equate the rules of both languages so he can see similarities."
"I had the student review the assigned worksheet I had given her. I also went through a second worksheet with her, and we walked through the corrections she needed to make and she correctly identified the mistakes and knew how to solve them. I had her create more flashcards to help her correctly identify accents and "special" verbs. Additionally, we did a final review quiz on another platform to allow her further practice. She did great and will do final review on her own before her exam."
"The student did her homework with the new vocabulary she is learning dealing with technology, and also the past tense of the verbs ending in "car" and "gar." I am going to send her some more exercises to practice. The work we did went very well and she was happy."
"During this session, the student and I reviewed verb conjugations (mainly ser and estar) and the vocabulary from her most recent unit. This was in preparation for her final exam that is coming up next week. She has continued to do well with using flashcards as a study tool, and she has shown excellent progress in Spanish overall. She said that her current grade in Spanish is 86.5, and I can tell that she has been putting in the effort to learn the material and improve her speaking, reading, and writing abilities."
