Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student wanted to review more on pronouns, so we did an overview of some of the different topics covered by his worksheets, including subject vs. object pronouns, indirect vs. direct object pronouns, prepositional phrases, and verbs that are conjugated like "gustar." He came into the session with some doubts, but his answers throughout the session came faster and were more accurate, and by the end he felt more confident."
"Today, we worked on preparation for an upcoming exam. The student brainstormed ideas for the project she is working on. She came up with great ideas, and she began to write a rough draft of her speaking portion, and I will review it."
"We reviewed a portion of a practice AP Spanish exam. I also asked the student to summarize and verbally tell me about articles that she had read. I asked her several questions in Spanish and answered vocabulary questions. Her vocabulary is extensive and she has a very good command of the language. I will continue working with her on the quick response and verbal portion of the AP exam so she can be prepared for the test."
"The student did really well in this session as we mainly continued to prepare for her AP Spanish exam in May. She did some reading comprehension exercises as well as some writing skills assignments that were very helpful to strengthen her overall Spanish ability. She has been improving in these last sessions, but there is yet some room for improvement."
"We reviewed and discussed the essay the student wrote over the week. We then got into the conversation portion of the exam. We went over the things she needed to know and did a practice recorded convo. For next week, I asked her to work on three multiple choice exams."
"The student has a test this week, and we spent the majority of our time working on that. Specifically, we discussed definite and indefinite articles, their uses, gender, and making nouns plural. She has an excellent memory as well as awareness of what she lacks. We will begin adding songs that touch on specific grammar points to her lessons. She also mentioned that she improved significantly on her subjunctive (present and past) test. She also did quite well on a multiple choice practice AP test. We will continue to work on this in the coming weeks as well!"
