Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"It was a very effective session today. We went over convergence criteria for series with the six most common tests."
"We talked about the interpretation of the Riemann integral in terms of areas and about part I of the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. All connected to three worksheets the student had from her teacher."
"During this session, we reviewed the product rule, quotient rule and spent some time working with the chain rule. After that, we worked on implicit differentiation for her upcoming assignment. After all of this, we talked about where she was in the class. In our next sessions, we will concentrate on her chemistry class."
"The student and I covered applications of first derivatives, including finding critical points, as well as using the domain of the first derivative to find where the initial function is increasing or decreasing. The student seemed to follow the material quite easily. We had to use the quotient rule for derivatives, as well as the quadratic formula, to solve one of the problems, and the student followed very well. He thinks a test may be coming after the break, and that will be a good opportunity to see progress."
"The student and I continued to prepare for his exam. We reviewed several implicit differentiation problems. We then used you substitution to solve definite and indefinite integrals. We then addressed trig functions, inverse trig functions, and word problems. He is well prepared for the exam."
"We had a very good session going over the student's homework on extrema. Not only did she get down the process of how to find critical points, maxes, and mins, but we were also able to review several derivative rules. We will continue to review these as we go, and will be meeting again on Thursday."
