Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on phase diagrams and determining if the solution is solid, liquid or gas based on the temperature and pressure. We also looked at the phase changes and the term used, for example, sublimation is the change from solid to gas. We also worked on writing and balancing a chemical equations and using the equation to do calculations of grams, moles, volume and molarity. We also worked on titration calculations."
"Today's session was spent continuing our understanding of periodic trends. We looked at electronegativity, ionization energy, and metallic character. We attempted to explain some of the trends using Coulomb's law. We went through several questions on the student's practice packets."
"Today's session with the student went really well. We first focused on chemistry where we worked on basic problems using the ideal gas law and the three sub-laws associated with it. Then we spent a little time working math where we covered a dozen problems on solving rational functions. The student didn't have any struggles this week and after just a little explaining was able to complete the problems that he had with little difficulty. The student had a great attitude like always and seemed to enjoy our meeting. I think that he is starting to really understand the topic in math and is going to do very well on his exam."
