Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on continuity of piecewise functions at a given point, limits of functions at a certain point and to infinity. Also in preparation for a test we reviewed trig identities, parametric equations, and synthetic division. The session went very well."
"For this lesson, the student and I first went over his previous Pre-Calculus test and the questions he got wrong. After that we completed his Pre-Calculus homework and talked about approaches for the questions. Lastly, we worked on some trigonometry homework and approaches for those problems."
"We reviewed for the student's test on solving equations involving trigonometric functions. This involved using trig identities and manipulating equations to get them in certain forms. It also involved determining the values of common angles. He still needs a bit of practice with these but understands the concepts and strategies."
"We covered parabolas and completing the square. The student had a positive attitude. He successfully completed several practice problems. He is, and personally feels, well prepared for his upcoming quiz."
"The student is reviewing more for her class. Today we reviewed how to solve trigonometric equations. Once I explained to her that she is applying the same equation solving techniques from algebra, she understood what to do."
"The student and I worked on graphing trigonometric functions in preparation for his precalculus test tomorrow. We went over the basics of how trig functions change shape and location, and how to graph them. We worked through a couple specific problems that he was having doubts about. I think he had a good grasp of the problems, but it was good for him to work through the problems. We only did two full ones, going through them slowly and methodically."
