Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Tonight, we started getting ready for the student's trimester final. We did the review packet which covered conversions, projectiles, torque, inclines, and tension. Then we went back and reviewed some of the topics that she has been having problems with including tension forces and projectile motion. She had no problems with any of the practice questions we completed. Tomorrow we will continue reviewing for her test."
"We went through her physics review packet. I had her do all the work and just guided her at any places she got stuck. She was well versed in the information and was confident in her work. We then went through and completed her lab."
"The student has some catching up to do, but she's coming up to speed at a decent pace. We went over some concepts and then problems to apply them. We went over forces and kinematics, but I hope to be covering much more in depth next session."
"The student and I worked on his homework for the application of Newton's version of Kepler's 3rd law, and we also covered some of his Algebra course material in review for his final."
"The student and I went over her final exam review. She's most concerned with memorizing formulas and being able to deduce correct answers. Because of that, that is where we spent our time this session."
"Most of the session was spent on physics, where we did a few problems covering tension forces. Then we went on to do calculus. For calculus, I showed the student how to take anti-derivatives."
"We reviewed a recent exam. We started reviewing the concepts of work and kinetic energy. We finished our sessions by working on practice problems together."
"We covered force calculations and gravitational forces. We progressed through quite a few sample problems and talked about conceptualizing force, breaking down problems into simple components, etc."
"We reviewed mechanics, mechanical energy, work, and power in preparation for an upcoming test. By the end of the session, the student demonstrated that he was able to solve the problems correctly."
"The student completed problems from the practice exam and we reviewed concepts in kinematics, Newtonian forces, energy, work, and momentum."
"We did a conceptual review of the concepts on the student's syllabus in preparation for her exam. She has a firm grasp on most of the concepts and knows how to apply different terms into the equations given to her. Before her exam, it may be a big help for her to make flashcards to review the use of each equation on her equation sheet."
"We covered the entirety of the student's physics course thus far in preparation for his final. This included vector addition, kinematics, force, friction, momentum, impulse, energy, collisions, tension and everything in between. He did very well with most of the concepts."
