"I am a recent graduate of Arizona State University, where I studied History, Political Science and Arabic, with a minor in math.
What you might not be able to infer from my areas of study is my love of the English language! This is my primary expertise with regard to tutoring. I believe that there is a logic to every language, that every person is capable of understanding that logic. Because every person is capable of understanding this logic, every person has latent writing talent, whether they are aware of it or not."

" I make math fun for students who don't care for math. I feel everyone can truly like math and some, like me, can even love it. I have worked with students, who learn concepts and apply them properly, perform better on tests at school as well as tests like the ACT and SAT. Improving grades and scores on college entrance tests provide more choices of colleges and more financial aid in forms of grants and scholarships."

" Because of my major, I have taken a lot of Math and Science courses at the college level, so I understand which skills and concepts are critical to have a firm grasp on in order to tackle more advanced concepts. My tutoring style for each problem or concept is to define the goal and break down the process (which is often initially confusing) into steps towards that goal. This works whether we're working with graphing an equation, learning photosynthesis, or writing an essay. Since I attended high school here in Houston, I understand how challenging the courses can be. But in my opinion, every subject gets to be a lot easier when it's broken down ...

" As one of the more advanced students in every math or science class I took, many of my classmates would come to me for help. "I began tutoring as a high school student where I worked with other students in my school district tutoring mostly math and science. Then, before attending college I spent 6 months teaching English in Peru. Last year, as a sophomore in college, I was a TA for the Spanish Department, responsible for creating and executing my own lesson plans for two one-hour classes per week for Spanish 102, grading homework and designing my own quizzes. I also tutored occasionally through our on-campus tutoring program."
