"I enjoy tutoring a wide variety of subjects, but I particularly like reading and writing. I have had experience with private tutoring in several math subjects and have previously taught a chemistry class at a summer enrichment program in my hometown. My past experience has been primarily with middle school and high school aged students, but having younger siblings has equipped me with the skills to relate to students at any age. The style I use when approaching tutoring is to approach problems from several different angles."

" Here, I majored in International Culture and Politics where I was able to become proficient in writing, political science, and economics. I also obtained my certification of French proficiency during a language immersion program while I studied abroad in Tours, France. As a result, I enjoy tutoring in many of these same subject areas, with writing and government being the two areas I most enthusiastic about. While in high school I tutored my peers in math, in college I tutored peers in writing, and I also tutored high school students in the Cristo Rey Network while I was at Georgetown as part of an academic externship." ...

"in History (concentration in European History), I spent two years doing a Post-Bacc in Biology at the University of Houston. However, I think that my experience in two vastly different fields is a positive because it makes me better able to tutor a wide variety of subjects. In my free time, I love reading, cooking (I’m currently working on the perfect chocolate soufflé), yoga, and traveling (Costa Rica and Amsterdam are the plan for this summer). I have been tutoring since 2002 and my experience encompasses a wide range of clients, from middle-school students to college students. In addition to tutoring subjects ranging from ...

"While I have excelled throughout my academic career, I myself have struggled with test anxiety and with "keeping up" in more advanced classes. I know what it is to work HARD for a grade! I believe this makes me a better tutor, as I can truly empathize with my clients and their struggles. I believe many students lack confidence in their own abilities and give up discouraged if they don't "get it" as quickly as their peers. I enjoy helping clients realize their own abilities and talents and seeing their confidence levels rise.."
