"I have been tutoring throughout college because many of my friends sought my assistance. I mostly tutored in the pre-medical subjects including Statistics, Calculus, Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Additionally, as a peer advisor at Georgetown University, I was a point of contact for incoming freshmen as they transitioned to college. I also have formal tutoring experience with national companies."

" It was in my freshman year at Muhlenberg that I was first trained as a tutor. Ever since I have been tutoring Math, Chemistry and standardized tests. Tutoring is a pleasure to me, I particularly enjoy helping students reach that 'aha' moment, where they gain an insight into a particular concept. As of January 2012 I have tutored more than 20 students for a total of nearly 500 hours.
In the future I will be attending graduate school in Chemistry, and will later continue as an educator, hopefully on the university level.."

" My focus was on international relations and concentrated on the People's Republic of China. My years at Princeton developed my passion for human rights, and also solidified my desire to help others. During my senior year, I researched and compared the educational systems and conditions faced by Chinese migrant children and those faced by undocumented children in America.
As a long time athlete, I understand the value of coaching and teamwork."

"I attended private schools my whole life because I was awarded academic scholarships based off of academic performances. In high school, my average for the math regents was a 98.67. After that I received an academic scholarship to attend the University of Notre Dame where I really developed a passion for teaching and enlightening students in my free time, despite being a finance major. I decided that instead of teaching/tutoring, I should work for corporate America, and I worked at Goldman Sachs for 3 years."

" I graduated from the Honors Program at Adelphi University in 2011 with a BS in Biology.
I have tutored students enrolled in a variety of biology and chemistry classes for most of my time at Adelphi University and I enjoyed every minute of it. I've also helped students with essay writing and proofreading because of the rigorous reading and writing that was part of my curriculum in the Honors Program. It's hard to say which I enjoy more-- literature or science."

"I love tutoring one-on-one because I can get to know students and gear the lessons toward their interests, which helps them learn more quickly, retain new skills better, and enjoy the tutoring sessions more. I particularly enjoy teaching science, writing, and test prep. With test prep I've found that supplemental work on fundamental skills helps students improve their scores much more than working through a test prep book alone. Watching students develop confidence in their abilities and improve their performance makes my tutoring sessions some of the best hours of my week!." ...

"My philosophy is that everyone is educable and deserves an appropriate education in the least restrictive environment. My experience working and teaching students in other countries and cities has only serve to further my belief that there is no one 'right' model, yet more individualized instruction most often yields the greatest success. Learning is comprised of many components and how we teach our children should be regularly assessed to fit the needs of an evolving society. I have experience teaching and tutoring students with Special Needs, English Language Learners and Gifted and Talented children." ...

In May of 2011 I received my Bachelor’s in Comparative Arts, a unique interdisciplinary program offered through the WashU's Department of Comparative Literature - essentially a hybrid of Literature and Art History. I also completed minors in both Photography and Writing, two of my greatest passions. In the fall of 2012 I began my MFA in Writing with a concentration in non-fiction at Columbia. My extensive coursework in English and Creative Writing has given me a great deal of experience in workshop-based classes, and has made me a careful and skilled editor. I believe one ...
